Patrick Mahomes shared details about the bond between his family and pop superstar Taylor Swift.
The Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback revealed the pop star, who is dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, has spent time baking with his three-year-old daughter, Sterling. Like the other Chiefs players, Mahomes has taken advantage of the Week 6 BYE in the NFL season to recharge and focus on personal matters. While his teammate Kelce and Swift attended Game 1 of the ALCS between the New York Yankees and Cleveland Guardians, Mahomes spent his time addressing family matters, particularly with Swift’s involvement.
Mahomes spoke on 96.5 The Fan, a commercial radio station in Kansas City. When asked if Swift ever made baked goods for his family, he shared that Swift bakes with his daughter.
“She’s never baked anything specifically for me, but she’s made different treats that have been around my house like muffins and donuts… stuff like that,” said Mahomes. “Sterling’s a big baker as well, so they make some stuff together sometimes, and I’m not going to say I don’t eat them, so she’s as good as everybody’s talked about. She’s great as far as baking goes.”
Swift’s mysterious lure for her baking passion has become such an aspect of her life that an entire Reddit thread has been dedicated to collecting and listing everything she has ever mentioned baking. Swifties have gone to great lengths to compile recipes for some of her famous dishes and drinks.
Among the beverages she has shared are Pimm’s Cups, Aperol Spritz, Old Fashioned, and Mojitos, revealing her love for crafting elegant cocktails. Swift has also mentioned dinner options, including Ina Garten’s Real Meatballs & Spaghetti, Nigella Lawson’s Mughlai Chicken, and celebrity chef Jamie Oliver’s Chicken Fajitas.
In the baking world, Swift has created a variety of goods, including Chai Tea Eggnog Cookies, Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies, and Chocolate Chunk Oatmeal Cookies. Several YouTubers have uploaded videos re-creating Swift’s recipes and Kelce’s mother, Donna Kelce, who shares a passion for baking.
Swift has shown her baking talents on a few public occasions. During a “People of the Year” interview with former television news personality Matt Lauer, she baked him pumpkin cookies with cream cheese icing.
The mega pop star once participated in a bake-off with Oliver for a Stand Up to Cancer event. The friendly competition raised awareness for a good cause and revealed Swift’s chocolate cake in a cake-themed remake of her song “Shake it Off.”
