In Swifties’ wildest dreams, they never envisioned Taylor Swift back in the bleachers.
But thanks to the Tortured Poets Department singer’s romance with the Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce, which resulted in her attendance at 13 games including the 2024 Super Bowl, that’s exactly where fans found the superstar this past season.
Since Taylor’s first appearance at Arrowhead Stadium on Sept. 24, 2023—during which she hung out with the athlete’s mom, Donna Kelce, and enthusiastically cheered after he scored a touchdown—the relationship between the Grammy winner and Travis, both 34, has dominated headlines, timelines, Christmas bars, the condiment industry and the NFL’s social media, with the league even having to shake off criticism of its excessive coverage of the new celebrity couple of the moment.
Sure, speculation about Taylor’s love life is nothing new, but the level of interest in her relationship with Travis hits different, possibly because their love story began with a public declaration of interest from the athlete. But, even more surprising than Travis’ Hail Mary pass at Taylor was the notoriously private star accepting it so openly.
“Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell,” Taylor revealed in her December Person of the Year interview with TIME. “We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other.”
And we’re so happy to be out of the woods as Taylor and Travis’s relationship has only soared to new heights since his podcast shout-out. (See: Travis proving just how down bad he is by publicly professing his love for the musician.)
So, as a new NFL season kicks off, let the games begin because we’re running down 13 reasons why Travis and Taylor might just be end game…
