Following the release of Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), the FBI (ya know… the Federal Bureau of Investigation…) dropped their spin on Taylor Swift’s latest re-recording — with a (not-so-subtle) call to action.
“Justice is better than revenge,” the FBI Washington field office tweeted on July 10. “You may not be Superman, but you can help the #FBI protect the country. If you have information about a federal crime, speak now.”
The graphic included with the message mirrored Taylor’s back cover album art for Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) and featured nine original songs (all FBI’s Version, of course): “Terrorism,” “Cybercrime,” “Counterintelligence,” “Civil Rights,” “Public Corruption,” “Weapons of Mass Destruction,” “Organized Crime,” “Violent Crime,” and “White-Collar Crime.”
It’s unclear if Taylor herself was involved in the parody post, but remember, she is booked and busy performing across the country for her Eras Stadium Tour. In any case, it’s safe to say that this is one collaboration we never expected.
