Could Taylor Swift Become a Part-Owner of the Chiefs? NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell Weighs In

Taylor Swift tipped for NFL ownership by commissioner Roger Goodell amid romance with Travis Kelce | Daily Mail OnlineEarlier this week, when the NFL approved Tom Brady becoming a part-owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, the idea of someone way more famous and beloved — sorry, not sorry — came up.

At the NFL owners meeting in Atlanta, someone asked NFL commissioner Roger Goodell about Taylor Swift.

Now, preface this to say that Swift, who is dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, has never, ever publicly expressed interest in becoming a team owner.

Although, hold on, Swift and Goodell were seen chatting in a suite at the Super Bowl in February.

Hmmmmmmm.

But apparently the idea of the pop superstar adding “NFL owner” to her impressive resume has crept into the lavender haze of some brains out there.

At the end of a news conference with Goodell in Atlanta, blogger and YouTuber Zennie Abraham noted how the Brady deal has already gotten people interested in buying Raiders season tickets.

“With that, has anyone approached Taylor Swift about being a minority partner in the Chiefs?” Abraham asked Goodell, who began smiling at the question before Abraham even finished asking.

“I really don’t know the answer to that one,” Goodell said to laughs in the room. “If she’s interested, she has the ability to do it, let’s put it that way.”

If anyone had the “ability,” it would most certainly be Swift.

DraftKings on X: "Could Taylor Swift become part-owner of the Kansas City Chiefs? 🤔 NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell believes it could happen 👀 https://t.co/U7RQXSxl4Q" / XLast week Forbes reported that she has a net worth of about $1.6 billion. She is now the richest woman in music, surpassing Rihanna ($1.4 billion) and her beauty empire.

And she would not be the first celebrity to own part of a team, though most who have bought into pro sports franchises own stakes in NBA, MLB or soccer teams.

Excluding fans of Chiefs rivals, social media users had some fun with the idea of Swift becoming an NFL owner, though one X user wondered: Why would it have to be the Chiefs?

“Maybe Travis can convince her to buy the Browns,” they suggested.
