HHT – On the night of November 8 , the official list of nominees for the 67th annual Grammy Awards was announced.
Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan Dominate the Nominations
2024 has been an incredibly successful year for young artists Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan. With numerous hits to their names, the two Gen Z stars have secured nominations in all four of the Grammy Awards’ most important categories: Best New Artist, Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and, most importantly, Album of the Year.
Taylor Swift Breaks Records Again
This Grammy season, Taylor Swift’s album The Tortured Poets Department has garnered six nominations, including Album of the Year. This achievement makes Taylor Swift the female artist with the most nominations in the Album of the Year category, with seven nominations and four wins. However, her concert film The Eras Tour did not receive a nomination in the Best Music Film category, leaving many fans disappointed.
Beyoncé Remains Unstoppable, Leading with Record-Breaking Nominations
With her album COWBOY CARTER, Beyoncé has secured 11 nominations at this year’s Grammys across various categories. This record-breaking achievement makes Beyoncé the most-nominated artist in Grammy history, with a total of 99 nominations. Fans are hopeful that she will finally win Album of the Year, a category she has yet to conquer.
Ariana Grande Misses Out on Major Nominations
2024 marked Ariana Grande’s return after a four-year hiatus with her album eternal sunshine, a commercial and critical success. However, Grande did not secure any major Grammy nominations, particularly missing out on Album of the Year. Instead, she received three nominations: Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, Best Dance Pop Recording, and Best Pop Vocal Album.
Charli XCX’s Big Leap Forward
Many music fans have dubbed 2024 as the “year of the brat” as Charli XCX’s album BRAT achieved tremendous success. She secured seven Grammy nominations this season, surpassing many big names. Notably, her track Von Dutch received nominations in two major categories: Album of the Year and Record of the Year.
Dua Lipa and Katy Perry Left Empty-Handed
Dua Lipa’s return with Radical Optimism did not match the success of her previous hit album, Future Nostalgia, resulting in zero Grammy nominations for 2025. Similarly, Katy Perry’s album 143 received mixed reviews from critics and fans alike, leaving her without any nominations at the 67th Grammy Awards.
