A sweet pup named Chase never imagined that his owner could turn his back on him and leave him for good.
After the unthinkable happened and Chase found himself all alone in the street, he gazed into the distance with eyes filled with sadness and confusion.
Without knowing where to go, Chase started running through the lonely streets. All he wanted was to see his owner’s face again and to find safety in his arms.
Feeling overwhelmed with fear, Chase curled up in a bush, wishing to wake up from this nightmare.
The three cyclists screeched to a stop after they noticed a brown and white pup hiding in the bush.
They rushed to his aid right away.
At first, the cyclists thought he was a stray dog, but once they took a closer look, they were left surprised. Chase had a collar with an attached note that was secured in a plastic bag.
A wonderful couple, Amanda Laken and her husband, who happened to be in the vicinity, realized what was going on, so they jumped in to help. They secured Chase and took him to Hope Rescue.
Once the doggo arrived at the rescue, he still felt terrified.
After seeing the fear in his soulful eyes, the staff’s hearts broke. They took him in their arms and tried to console him.
The shelter staff felt relieved that Chase was alright.
After being taken from its plastic wrapping, the note read: “My name is Chase. I am 1 year old November 10. I am very friendly and kind, good with kids. I need a new home as my owner cannot take care of me. Please help me. Thank you.”
Although the wonderful caregivers at Hope Rescue began taking care of Chase and giving him time to relax, the canine couldn’t get rid of his fear.
He felt sorrowful and he barely ate anything.
The staff tried to talk to him and make him feel better, but Chase kept sitting at one spot, refusing to interact with them.
Determined to win his trust, Chase’s caregivers thought of a great idea to help the pup come out of his shell.
They introduced him to two friendly shelter dogs who quickly became his friends.
Soon, the rescue found Chase a great foster family who showered him with love.
His fosters also had two gentle canines who welcomed the pup into their home and began helping him regain his confidence.
Shortly afterward, Chase started playing with his doggy friends and he began displaying his affectionate personality. He loved to snuggle with them at night.
As the canine continues getting close to his foster family, they are starting to think that he may have already found his forever home.
“Chase’s future is looking bright. We are thrilled for him that after the trauma of being abandoned, he has found a [family] who understand him and can help him blossom into the happy dog deserves to be,” Sara Rosser, head of operations for Hope Rescue, told The Dodo.
Huge thanks to the giant-hearted people who stepped in to help the terrified dog and brought him to safety.
Because of your compassion and kindness, Chase has a new lease on happiness.
