The rapper, media mogul and G-Unit Film & Television founder recently spoke to People about poking fun at the Diddy allegations on social media. Last month, Diddy, real name Sean Combs, was taken into federal custody in New York, where he now awaits trial on charges of racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution. The 54-year-old has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
“Look, it seems like I’m doing some extremely outrageous things, but I haven’t. It’s really me just saying what I’ve been saying for 10 years,” Fifty told the outlet.
He continued, “Now it’s becoming more full-facing in the news with the Puffy stuff, but away from that, I’m like, ‘Yo, it’s just my perspective because I stayed away from that stuff the entire time, because this is not my style.'”
Since Diddy’s arrest, 50 Cent has trolled the Bad Boy Records founder with baby oil memes and lubricant mentions , referencing the ‘Freak Off’ materials found in his Miami and Los Angeles properties. The Queens native is currently working on a documentary project about the accusations that Diddy has faced, which was reportedly sold to Netflix.
“This is a story with significant human impact. It is a complex narrative spanning decades, not just the headlines or clips seen so far,” Fifty and director Alexis Stapleton said in a joint statement to Variety .
Fifty also addressed the project and Diddy’s alleged Freak-Off parties in a Us Weekly interview from August, where he denied ever attending an event the “I Need a Girl Pt. 1” artist has thrown.
“I’m the only person in hip-hop culture that has produced any hit television. Why wouldn’t I be the person to produce it?” he said. “And I’m not on the tapes. See, some of the people who have been around in the culture who are not saying anything—that’s because they’ve been to the parties, [and] they don’t know what part of their experiences are on tape. So it keeps them quiet and it looks like I’m the only guy, but I’ve been [saying] for years that something’s not right.”
While Fifty and Diddy were once amicable in the early 2000s, their relationship changed when Fif accused Diddy of having involvement in the murder of The Notorious B.I.G. on 2006 diss track “The Bomb.” Diddy also briefly dated Daphne Joy , Fifty’s ex, with whom he shares a 12-year-old son, Sire Jackson.
